Is this life?

Wat a sad day... 26th of Dec 2004...
These few days, there're pics... sad pics all over the paper.
On the other hand, when seeing helpful hands giving water and medical needs to those affected area, I feel relieved... touched... If every country can always help each other without hoping for return, how good!

Not my 'type'

Trip to Sydney

Day 1 (11th Dec)
Arrive in Sydney airport on 8.20 am, after a 1hr 20mins flight from Melb.
Checked into a hotel (which is the crappiest hotel I've ever stayed).
Well, it's a 2 star hotel, a small un-vacuumed room with 2 single beds, small fridge, old crappy cupboard, 2 chairs, 2 bedside tables. Had to share toilet (without any hooks to hang clothes or what) with other rooms.
anyway, we survived! haha.
Took a walk to Paddy market (short for Paddington Markets). It's .... a market loh..haha... with vegie, fruits, meats, fish, and other dry-non-food stuff. Much smaller than Victoria market. Chinatown is just nearby the market. The market only opens from Thurs to Sun.
Then, walked to Darling Harbour, saw children performing christmas show. being asked for a 15 mins-survey abt darling harbour.. tourism things....
Visited the Maritime Museum, where all the navy stuff in there... including their clothes they wore since.... dunno when..haha... and the ships, a huge anchor.... Free admission!
Then, had lunch in Queen Victoria Building. QVB is a famous place on Syd, for it's an old shopping place, with very nice christmas decoration, a very huge, 3 (or 4) level-high christmas tree in there... Walked around QVB, parks and other places in the town.
Went to Darling Harbour again at night, to see the lights, very beautiful view! And to listen the carols by the christmas tree. The christmas feel is so nice... since it's a saturday night, many ppl there, in the pubs, restaurants, parties, fuctions. While we're sitting on the floor, around the stage where 3 ppl singing christmas songs.

Day 2
To Paddy market. Took a bus to Bondi Beach. Good weather for a swim, but I didn't.haha! Lots and lots of ppl at the beach! So hot!!! There's a arts and crafts market at Bondi.
Back to the city after lunch. Went to the Rocks, where many restaurants and pubs are. And as arts and crafts market (only open on sat and sun).
Walked around the Circular Quay. Took pics of the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge... Saw many street performances. Which is really enjoyable! haha! Well, that's one thing i like to do in Syd in this trip.
Had dinner in a Japanese restaurant. Really small, but good food.
Then, me and my aunt walked to Darling Harbour (again)... for the Christmas Carol by the Christmas tree. different ppl singing tonight. 4 ladies... even better than the 2 guys and 1 woman last night. Enjoy... nice songs with nice view, and a Starbucks peppermint mocha with cream. Yumm!!! It's a limited edition.. only around christmas time.

Day 3
After breakky, bought a Daytripper ticket, which enables me to travel unlimited time of bus, ferry and train within a day.
Me and my aunt went on a ferry, took a round from the Circular Quay, to Milsons Point, McMahons Point, Darling Harbour , Pyrmont Bay and then the reverse route back to Circular Quay. Took nice pics of Opera House and Harbour Bridge from the ferry. Nice ferry trip...
Then, went on another ferry to Manly. nice wind on the ferry... It's a small town, with bay, beach (Manly Beach), houses....
On our ferry back to Circular Quay, it started raining. almost every ppl on the deck with camera busy taking photos..haha. The view of the dark clouds on the Sydney highrise.
Went to the Olympic Park by train. rain kept falling then stop, then fall again....
Nothing much in the Olympic Park. That's where 2000 Olympic was held. outside the Telstra stadium, there're many poles, with all the atheletes' name on.
After taking pics, back to the city... dinner time at 8.30pm
No more carols at Darling Harbour. So we actually dicided to go to the Opera House to see the night view. But after dinner, it's almost 930 already. So, headed back to the hotel after dinner at Chinatown.

Day 4
Last day in Syd! Can't wait to go 'back' to Melb! Well, Syd is not that bad, it's just... I prefer Melb.
Walked to Opera House. On the way, passed by Parliment House. Went in... took photos... That's where the NSW parliment hold their meetings and stuff....
I went into the Legislative Assmply Chamber (where the lower house hold their meetings). I sat on the chair for the Serjeant-at-Arms (the one who control the meeting) and took a photo.hehe... Visitors are not allowed to sit on the speaker's chair though.
Then, actually, we planned to walk across the Harbour Bridge. But too hot and too lazy to do so.haha!
So we went for lunch, then me and 3 of them split to our ways... they wanted to go to have a look at Kingcross. That's the 'red-light centre' in Syd. While I wonder around in Syd city.
Saw a few street performances, like the 2 guys playing guitar and drum, singing. Like those Hawaiian feel punya songs.... haha
After dinner, to the airport... back to Melb at abt 21.45

Well, Sydney is much busier than Melb. I think that the roads, public transport are not as in good order than in Melb. Or mayb that's coz i'm used to Melb? But the ppl there are not as friendly as in Tas and Melb. Hmm....

Navigator on board...

Trip to Tasmania 2004

Overall, the trip was not too bad. But if you are a city person, I don't think u'll enjoy Tasmania. Coz it's more of nature, scenery... I went with my aunt and 2 of her friends. We only went to the East part of Tasmania. Oh ya... in case you're wondering where's Tassie, it's an island located SouthEast of Australia.
3 of them took turns to drive around while I was the navigator... the one reading maps and telling which way to go, which corner to turn... So, didn't really get to sleep during the journey... not an easy job though.
And also... skin got darker after the trip!
on this trip, we saw many... more than 20 dead animals on or by the road, mainly possums (I think, coz can't really tell them apart).
And also, saw big open area with sheep, cows, horses......

Day 1 (5th Dec)
Arrived in Hobart at 8.10am after a 1hr flight from Melbourne.
Pick up a rented car (Kia, Rio, silver) from the airport
Drove to Port Arthur abt 1.5 hr from airport.
Port Arthur was established in 1830 as a convict timber station to produce material for Government projects. It bacame a prison settlement for male convicts and was intended to provide severe punishment for repeat offenders. By 1840, there were over 2000 convicts and staff in Port Arthur. The settlement closed in 1877 after abt 12000 sentences had been served here. During the next 2 decades, a number of the settlement's buildings were pulled down or destroyed by fire.
We had a 40 mins historic walking tour which explained to us the key aspects of Port Arthur's history. After that, went on a 20 mins Harbour Cruise which passes the dockrards, Point Puer boy's prison site and the Isle of the Dead. The cruise was nice. Strong wind plus strong sun. Isle of the Dead is where the majority of convicts and ex-convict paupers were buried in mostly umarked graves on the power part of the island. The graves of free ppl were on the higher part of the island and marked by headsontes cut by the convict stonemasons.
Walked around Port Arthur, visited and took pics of the Convict Church, the Commandant's House, the civilians' houses, Guard tower, The penitentiary...
On our way back to Hobart to check in to the apartment, went for a nice view at blow hole and the Fossil Cliff.
After dinner (instant noodles with eggs and vegie), drove to the casino. Which is kind of a lousy one compared to that in Melbourne. haha!

Day 2
Abt 35 mins drive to Huonville. Visited a few places near that area. Such as the Enchanted Woods, which is a craft shop; Tahune Forest Reserve for the 50 mins return Airwalk (walk through the canopy on a 'trail' built high up).
On the way back from Airwalk to the Huonville, we went to see the Australia's biggest tree, and some lookout points. Took some photos with 'our car' at a nice lookout place. haha!
Back to Hobart, drove around the city, then to a small town called Richmond, which is abt 25km from Hobart. Richmond is just a small, quite town. Australia's oldest bridge is there, dated 1823. The oldest church is there as well.

Day 3
After checking out from the apartment before 10am (that's the rule in Aus), set off to Claremont, only abt 15 mins drive from the apartment. What's in Claremont?! The Cadbury factory! Had a tour, which brought us around the factory, 'picked up' 17 chocolates along the tour. haha! Freshly made... yumm!! All the chocolate there are not stored in the factory for more than 24 hours. They're exported to Melb than to other places (not sure about other countries). The cocoa they used came from Gana (if i'm not wrong), which has the best quality cocoa, Malaysia and another country which I can't remember. The best quality cocoa is used to make dark chocolate.
And chocolate which is exported to hotter asian country, is not as 'pure' as those sold in Aus itself coz they have to add stabilizer (or something like that) so that it won't melt so easily.
After the tour, bought some chocolate back.
Then, on our way to Coles Bay, which is abt 3 hrs drive from Hobart.
Went pass another small town called Sorell. Went to a Cherry n berry farm. Plucked a container full of Cherries, rasberries, longanberries, apricot (or issit called peach?)...
Then stop by a small town called Swansea. Nothing much there, took some photos of the beach there.
After that, went to a disappointing route... From the map, there's a waterfall not far away.... so follow the road... but it's soooooo deep into the forrest along the small road, where no other cars passed by. which is scary coz it's getting dark somemore. So when we get to the dead end for the car, have to get down and walk through the woods to see the waterfall. We didn't walk coz scared will get lost in the woods. haha! So, feel bad about that, coz I was the one who brought us there but see nothing.
After checked into a cabins with 2 rooms, kitchen, bathroom... went for dinner at a fish n chip shop. Then, walk along the coast waiting to see the sunset on the horizon. But... the sun set behind the mountains! haha!
At night, 4 of us sat down and drank red wine. Couldn't finish that bottle though. haha! coz everyone's tired... someone even got drunk! haha! and also, they had to drive the next day.

Day 4
Check out from cabins
To the Frycinet National Park where the famous Wineglass Bay is.
Parked our car then have to walk for about 30mins to reach the lookout point, and abt another 45 mins to get down to the bay.
The walk is so tiring! Up and down on the rocks... Especially when coming back up from the bay. really... burn up almost all my fats!
Then at the carpark, saw a wild kangaroo with a little joey in her pouch.
After that, went to another 2 lookout point in the Frycinet National Park to see the light house and the bay.
Continue the journey to Lauceston, which is abt 3.5 hours from Coles Bay. Stopped by Campbell Town on the way. Saw this 'gadget' where you can calulate when will the venus (or issit mars?) will pass by the sun.
Arrived Lauceston, checked in. We stayed in a nice heritage motel. Each room has a name. The room I'm in is the Gun Room, which was said on the black heavy dungeon-like door. And in the room, even the toilet, chairs... is so.... heritage. There's a nice big windmill at the hotel area too.
Went for a walk in Lauceston city, had dinner, then walked along the Cataract Gorge which connects to the Tamar River. Nice view.
Wow... had many walks today. Tired...

Day 5 (9th Dec)
Had nice breakfast at the small restaurant opposite our room.
Set off to the Bridestowe Lavender farm!!! That's the largest lavender estate in the Southern hemisphere which has that particular species of lavender. (well, there're many types of lavender).
Had a short tour, explained how the flower bud is seperated and the oil extracted. Rupa-rupanya, only like.... 10% of the total weight of the plant is the bud, which is useful to extract the oil and make other stuff.
Had a lavender icecream... actually it's a vanilla ice-cream, with a lavender fudge and sprinkled with lavender loolies.
Before heading back to Lauceston city, went to the Tamar Valley, visited Hillwood Strawberry Farm, Fruit Wine & Cheese Centre. We din have time to pick our strawberries though. Bought a bottle of strawberry wine.
Hang around in Lauceston city till dinner time...
Back to Melbourne at 22.35

As soon as I'm back... Check my results!!! waited till abt 2.30 am for the results

The journey begins...

Went to Ballarat, Sovereign Hill with my aunt on a day trip yesterday.
Ballarat is a town which is abt 2 hours from the city. Sovereign Hill resembles the gold mining era at Ballarat in the 1850s. It was quite an interesting place to visit.
There were shops such as the bakery, the pottery, library, schools, small chinese village ... set up like in the 1850s, they even have people working there (as in, walking around), wearing costumes like those in the 1850s.
We went to see the gold pouring show. The guy (blacksmith) showed us how those ppl back then make those 99.99% pure gold bricks.
We played bowling there as well. It's a wooden ball and have 9 (i think) wooden pins. and the bowling alley is soooo much longer than those mordern ones. So, the ball i threw... stopped just right before it hits those pins! aih... haha! Didn't have lunch before that maybe?! haha!
So after that, we had lunch we packed at the bowling place.
The day trip started at 8.45am, arrived at Sovereign Hill at 11am.
The coach driver was also our tour guide. He didn't show us around Sovereign Hill though, coz we just walked around by ourselves using a map.
But he explained about Ballarat and everything we came across along the journey.
We went to the gold museum as well. But, well, it's a bit disappointing to me. Coz nothing much to see there. Not to say not interesting, but not much stuff there.
we left Sovereign Hill at 3.30pm, back in the city at 5.15

After exams celebration

We had a 'small after exam celebration' at my place last night.
We had dinner here... Chicken lasagne (is this the right spelling?), apple pie and salad. the lasagne was good! and the apple pie .... well, not too bad actually, but lots of juice from the isi. haha!
After that, we watched the cartoon, Home on the range and a taiwan series.
and we slept at 4.30 this morning..hehe...
It was fun to have you guys! thanks for coming!

and tonight, will have a gathering dinner for the bunch of us from Albert House last year, plus Fendy of course. haha! and Mel is bringing her friend along too... but I still dunno who is that.
Aih.... this marks the end of our first year.... sad?

So, this is the end of my first year uni, and the beginning of my summer holiday!
Happy holidays people!

Good 'morning'

I slept at 4.45am this morning! Am I crazy?!
It's all because of Chemistry!
had to finish doing revision and past year papers. That's why I slept so 'early'.
At 4 am, can hear the birds singing out there... haha! Anyway, one more week and I'm free of exam for few months.. haha!
k, going back to study now...

Bad rainy day! :(

I woke up this morning, thinking of going to the market for some stuff. It was sunny until I just walked out from my apartment! I thought it won't be a heavy one.. so I walked walked walked, under my umbrella... But, I regret when I was just walking at Flagstaff Garden. The rain was so so so strong! with the strongest wind you can imagine! I had to go back! So by the time I got back, the front of my jeans and my shoes are totally wet!! Soaked!!! Stupid rain!
So, fine... I went for a shower, washed my hair and everything... then after 8 mins (that's how long I bathed, I think), the sun was smiling at me! What weather is this?!
Huh! I was so 不甘愿! so, I put on a new jumper, another clean jeans, and a beany... and went out 'again'. haha! But the thing is... I din bring umbrella!!!! That's the big mistake!
Coz when I just came out from the shop at vic mart, it rained again! not as heavy as just now, but still heavy! I had to find shelter along Elizabeth St... Thank goodness that I had my grandma-made-beany on. :) then, when it's not too heavy rain, I bought the stuff that I wanted, and home I went.
But, that's not the end of the rain!
It became heavier and heavier again when I was on my way back!
So I had to stood under the shelter near the vic mart carpark entrance. I was there for... 15 mins? Then suddenly, I heard heavy rain hitting on the roof... No, it's not just rain, it's 冰刨! haha! That's the 2nd time I saw 冰刨 in Melbourne this year (and in my life too). It looks like snowing.. haha! (that's the only 'fun' thing in the rain)
After that, I waited for another... 8 mins before the rain is small enough for me to walk home.
And of course, my shoe and toes are all wet! but luckily, my jeans was not too bad.
Now, I'm sitting in front of my com, eating my lunch (triple smoked ham, dried tomato, cheese sandwich) with a cup of hot milo... how nice is to be at home (dry) haha!

Exam, exams, examssss!!

It's exam period... again! twice in a year (at least)... Well, now i have one week break before my next ppr (that's the 2nd last ppr for this sem). Really looking forward to the last ppr... coz after that, i'm free!!!! and i'm going to Taz and Syd with my aunt for holiday! yay!!
well, had my physics ppr yesterday... wasn't too bad i think, but there's this radioactive question that kept bothering me this morning, as soon as i woke up, I suddenly thought of why and how I got that question wrong! wierd ey... anyway, this Physics ppr will be my last Physics exam ppr in my life!! wohoo!! how good is that?! haha!! I just hate to study Physics (for exam)! But I have no choice but to take Physics this WHOLE year coz it's a first year core subj.
I've chosen my subj for 2nd year... sounds interesting to me..hehe... (those electives) Kind of looking forward to that.. haha... well of course, I won't want my summer holie to end so fast.
K, till here for now... got to head back to Chemistry now.
For ppl who are having exams now, all the best! and don't stress too hard!! Welcome to visit my blog when u need to relief your stress..haha!

Exam is coming!!

After so long... I'm back again..hehe
Well, obviuosly, my year-end exam is coming really soon!! my first paper starts on the 9th Nov and the last one is on the 23rd. Not a bad timetable... except that I only have one day between the first 2 papers - Bio and Physics!! that's the big problem!!
really worry about these 2 subjects especially. Coz for the other 2 - Chem and Stats... i have about 7 days to prepare before each of them.
So, have to work hard now! worry too much won't help me. ;)
Wish me luck for my phyeics presentation tomorrow and the scholarship interview on next Thursday morning!

Good start of holiday!

Oops... so long didn't post things here already... hehe... hmm.. this shows that how busy i was. haha!!
I'm having my mid sem break for 2 weeks from Sat. Besides having a good rest, still hv to catch up with my studies... aih...
Well, I had a good start of my mid sem break.
I went to play badminton for almost 3 hours with my frens from Biomed at Albert Part on Friday. That was sooooo tiring!! After that, we went to a Maxican restaurant for dinner... hmm...well, the food that i ordered was a bit tasteless. Good try though.. haha.... then , we headed to Lygon (the italian street in Melbourne) for Gelati (an italian ice cream)!! it had been months since i last ate gelati! I had durian + green tea gelati.. hehe.... good choice! err... but doesn't mean that's a good combination..haha!
Friday nite, 2 of our frens sleptover at my place.
Then on Saturday... 4 of us went out shopping ... err... well, i didn't buy anything though..haha.. That's what always happen to me when I went out shopping with my frens.
Not that I don't want or need anything, just haven't seen what I really like. haha... I'm still looking for a water bottle, pencil case, a jumper....
Then at nite, we went to Crown for a movie: Suddenly 30 (I think it's called 13 turning 30 in M'sia, but i'm not so sure). It was a nice movie and it touched our heart! haha... I think it's more of a "girls' movie" haha.
Sunday!! Horse-riding day!! yay!! It's an activity run by the Malaysia Culture Society (MCS). It's at Mt Disappointment. although it sounds err.... but the trip was not disappointing at all!!
I got a slow... i really mean slow... horse.. he's quite old i think.. abt 20 years old. Coz I didn't really know how to control him, i terlanggar some twigs and small branches...aih... haha... not that he terlanggar, but he went so close to those trees that I was the one who kena!!
There were about 32 of us. We went on horse-riding in the 'jungle' haha... saw kangaroos... after abt 2 hours, reached the top, took a light meal in a small house. really nice scenery from up there!! well, err... all around are farms, not for plantation, but sheeps and cows... all green.... blue sky... how nice!! then, another 1 hour to go back down... (obviously, we took a different route) We had bbq there and cut b'day cake for a girl from the group (whom i dunno).
Then, off we go... back to the city...
So tiring!! almost everyone fell asleep in the bus on our way back.. haha
I'll put up the photos on webshots when I have them... hehe
after 2 and a half 'holiday', hv to think about finding out research projects for the Chemistry vacation scholarship and physics seminar...
Oh ya... I applied for the scholarship and was in the short list now... so have to find out which research project offered interest me. Have to discuss about that in the interview which is after Sep 27th. Still dunno the exact day yet. wish me luck!!

Last day of Athens Olympic 2004

Hmm... Seems that it's been long time I din update here.
err...... nothing big happen i think... But not really in good mood these few days... dunno why... Mayb coz of the 2 tests coming next week... Bio and Physics. really looking forward to the 2-weeks-long mid sem break. Aih.. didn't really have the 'energy' and mood to study.. especially Bio... aih... always fell asleep half way through...
Well, maybe it's all because of me not enough sleep... see.. sleep is very important! It'll affect one's mood.
Anyway, today.. watched women's volleyball final. It was really a good match! China won over Russia.
This is the last day of Olympic 2004... but i'm not goin to watch the live closing ceremony! 4.15am!! there'll be a replay tomorw 8.30pm... hmm... should I watch? mayb not... why? coz of the bio lar!
okies... better sleep now... nite...

What a day...

Went to ChineseMusicGroup's production just now... as an audience, not on duty. It was ... well, not as 'pro' as ChineseTheatreGroup's but still, it's good! Felt great after the whole thing ended... at first, didn't really hv cheng2 jiu4 gan3... but then at last, ya... a bit lar..haha..... For me, lots of thing is done coz of the cheng2 jiu4 gan3... especially stuff like performances. I like the feeling when ppl appreciate my hardwork. That's why, I hope that I can be one of the musicians in the next CMG play! haha... that's my mission.... woa...
Actually, there's a supper for all the production member. But I didn't go. Partly becoz it's too late already, I'll hv to come home by myself...which is a bit 'scary' haha... and also, I don't really feel like I'm part of the CMG production... well, 'physically' I am, but 'mentally', I don't think so. hmm... sad right?! Mayb I didn't go to the camp that they had during the holiday. But also, coz most of them in the production are from HK... err...no offence here lar...just that, I can't really mix around with HKies.
Anyway, this is a good experience for me... to join activity in uni... this is my first time in uni...
And coming up... MelbourneUniOverseasStudentSociety is having a Festival of Nations! I'll most propably be a voluteer for MUOSS or else, I'll help my frens who are involved in setting up a stall during Feast of Nations on behalf of Malaysian Culture Society (err...not so sure abt that title). It's a new society in MUOSS... still not really established yet.
Today... woke up at 1pm, coz slept at 6am this morning after watching the Olympic Opening Ceremony live on tv. Well, me and JingYing didn't watch the whole thing... coz we were to osleepy to continue watching..haha!
Then, went to Norttuno (an Italian restaurant in Lygon St, which is an Italian st)...despite the heavy and windy rain, had dinner with JY, YF, Shelvin and a surprise b'day dinner for Shelvin. Well, this is the 2nd surprise b'day celebration that I'm involved in planning for my frens this year. haha! aih... but i never had a surprise b'day party before!! hmm... and didn't really had a good b'day party though. But well, the one last year wasn't too bad...coz it's my b'day and farewell party (for goin into Trinity). hehe...
Asked my mum abt the Chemistry Vacation Scholarship at the end of this year... It's kind of like a research project... I think will get paid for that... But if I really got it, I can only go back to m'sia in Feb next year, for 2 weeks mayb... butI have to use my return flight ticket by mid-feb 2005. So, still thinking whether I should apply for it or not. But It's a good opportunity. Most research projects are for 2nd, 3rd year students. And I really want to go back at the end of next year... coz it's my 21st! haha... (hmm... think until so far liao)

Busy weekend...

Wow.... I had a busy weekend....
On friday, We had a surprise b'day party for 2 frens... at my place
And that was the first time after we left Trinity.... whole group of Albert House buddies gather together! But well, except SzeSze who is in Perth now. :( There were 20 of us that day.... Had 2 cakes, 7 pizzas, chips, soft drinks (leftovers are still in our fridge!)
On sat, busy coz of my desktop problem. Aih... Long winded story...haha... suan.... Anyway, the desktop is OK liao! yay!! and bought a microwave oven for the aptment!
and today... coz of CMG! Went to uni for the 'bump-in ceremony' for My Fa Lady. after that, helped to move the sets from a garage near College House to union house! heavy man!!! Wonder how those ppl did that for the past rehersals! I went into the backstage... it was cool! So many lighting stuff, wires, buttons.... and 'visited' th changing room as well... I'll upload those photos to my webshots later...
Then, had lunch with other sets crews at the new Malaysian Nasi Lemak restaurant at Grattan St. er... quite exp loh... and not really special also... average lar... coz I ordered Nasi Lemak Karabu... a bit dry though...coz not enough sambal! haha
then at 2.30pm, went back to the garage to clean up the paints on the floor.
By the time I reach home after I went to QV to get some stuff, it was already abt 5.15pm.
After dinner, watched Australian Idol! this week, they eliminate the ppl until 30 left. Tough!
so, started doin uni work at 8.30pm... wow...really slack man! Didn't really study or prepare for tutes since Thursday (my day off coz it's the first week of sem 2).
and now.... eyes tired liao... better go to sleep soon if I don't want to sleep in tomorw 9am lecture. haha! nitez...

Thursday, July 29, 2004

Eww...

Have no lectures on Thurs but all prac. So for 1st week of sem2, this means I don't hv to go uni! yay! Aih... wish it's like this every week! Well, my desktop is supposed to be delivered to me today. But not yet until now. :(
So, spent my morning going through Bio lecture notes and text book. We're learning abt parasites this week. Saw the pictures of parasites and insects in the text book...so gross! Eww.... I just couldn't stand it! Make me feel like vomiting! (I was having my lunch!) But I can still stand looking at pictures of skin diseases or organs which are affected by disease... But i just can't tahan looking at the prasites and insects!
And after I had Bio lecture yesterday abt parasites, I told myself: I'm not goin to take microbiology next year! haha!

Back to uni...

Aih... back to uni... back to hard work again... aih....
Ok, I'll stop aih-ing now.. haha!
Well, wasn't too bad today, had new maths, bio, physics lecturers and the same chem lecturer.
Went to Mark's Place (it's a pizza and pasta place) for lunch with 3 frens, including the Lenglui who just came back from KL yesterday! Long time no see, Lenglui!! Miss you lar!! That was the first time I saw her in person after she changed her hairstyle. But hor... honestly lar... I still like the hairstyle she had before this lar... haha! Anywa, I'll get used to it! hehe... still not a bad new hairstyle.
After that, hanged around in uni, searching for books... then went to the city to get myself a new desktop! Finally!!!!
The first time I wanted to get a new computer (either laptop or desktop) was when this laptop broke down 1 month ago. Then after it'd been repaired by a fren, I dun want to buy liao.. And later, found that it doesn't have enough HD space for me to use! then, I promised myself to bear with it for a few more months and get a new one from KL. But yesterday, I was complaining abt this old buddy coz very lagging, couldn't run a program that I just re-installed (although it worked funally)... on the phone to my mum and bro. So, finally, decided to buy a desktop!
Aih... hope this is not too chong1 dong4! 'chong dong.... wo de xin zai chan dou....' haha! that's a chinese song by dong4 li4 huo3 che1...
Anyway, looking forward to my desktop! And thanks to two of u who teman-ed me there this afternoon! Really appreciate it!

Back to uni...

Aih... back to uni again... have to work hard again... aih...
Ok, I'll stop aih-ing now..haha! Hmm... today, 4 lectures in the morning till 12.55 afternoon, then went to lunch at Mark's Place (it's a pizza and pasta place near uni) with 3 other frens, including the Lenglui who just came back from KL. Long time no see, Lenglui!! Miss you lar seriously! That's the first time I saw her in person with her new haircut! haha! err.... honestly lah, I still like the hairstyle she had before this one. But anyway, mayb just not used to it. hehe...
Then, after hanging around in uni, searching for books, went to city and get myself a desktop! Finally!! I once decided to get a new computer (either laptop or desktop) after this laptop i'm using now broke down a month ago. Then later on, it was repaired by a fren, I decided not to buy one liao... and later, I found that I don't hv enough HD space to use! So, I promised myself to get a laptop at the end of the year form KL, and bear with this for few more months. But still, yesterday, after complaining it on the phone to my mum and bro, I decided to get one here... now! Aih.... Hope I'm not doing this coz of chong1 dong4!
Ok.... looking forward for my new desktop in few days time! ;)

Break...

Had a good break today...coz didn't go to help out CMG sets today. Went there for the past 2 days, so I had a break today. Well, we did almost all the 'cutting and pasting cardboard' job on sat and sun, so will be painting and pasting the supports for the boxes and prisms...hmm....sounds complicated to ppl who are not in the sets crew ya?! haha.... well, if you want to know what are those stuff, then go watch the show!! haha... advertising it here....
So, what did I do the whole day at home?
I woke up at 11 something, ate cereal, then started to cook 'bo-bo-cha-cha'. haha! If u dunno what's that, let me explain.... it's a Malaysian dessert, with sweet potatoes, bananas, sago and coconut milk. get it?! But it didn't turn up really well.... taste funny... bit sour! Most propably because of the bananas though. coz the banana in there taste a bit sour. Anyway, there are still leftovers in the fridge... hope i'll finish it tomorw.... and JingYing, do you think you still want it tomorw? haha!
Other than that, I watched DVD the whole day long... Finished wathing a 9-hours japanese series, dunno what's the name though, it's in Jap mar... so how i know?! It's abt primary school teachers, with the students. Very nice and touching. I watched the ending once already before this, but still, it made me cry at the end.......
Aih.... think I better sleep earlier tonight. well, I slept quite early yesterday nite... slightly before 12. But still, I ended up waking up late today. Anyhow, I'll have to wake up early tomorw! coz will cook lunch, eat lunch then go to 'work' in CMG sets! hehe...

Tired?

Woa... went to a garage to help out CMG to do the sets... well, I'm part of the sets team for the coming CMG production: My Fa Lady. It's on 7, 12, 13, 14 Aug! in Union house, Union Theatre. 7pm. So anyone interested? can call me for tickets! haha! $14 for non C-group students (I think). hehe...
Hmm...it has been a long day though! measuring, drawing, cutting, taping, gluing... haha! Quite fun lar...but had a few paper-cuts on my hands... aih....
Anyway, will hv more to do tomorw, and the week follows....
Hope that all the things that we glued will stick together till the end of the shows lah!! haha...

LiveLonger!

Haha! that's what the tv show I watched just now is abt. A few celebreties and professionals were invited to the show, and of course there are audiences in the studio. And we got to do a MCQ tests about 'how long can you live' throughout the show. And guess what? i got 85.3! Hope I'll do better than that! haha... and there're many 'interesting facts' and healthy tips i got from the tv show:

Women live longer than men
It's not good to sleep more than 9 hours a day (haha), the best is 7, 8 hours
Estrogen can protect us from heart attck, that's one of the reasons why women live longer than men
We should aim to gain less than 5kg over our adult life
More aussies die from polluted air than car accidents
The advantage of exercise will be more obvious as we grow older
Active love life is good!
10000 steps a day (= 8km) is the best for us
Do 30 mins of physical activity everyday!
When a guy is around 40, his sperm has already devided for abt 770 times! haha...so many mutation may hv happened there
But for women, the eggs are ready far more earlier in their lives, only gone through 24 times of devisions
Exercise more to produce more endorphins which counter the effect of stress hormones
The shape of ur belly button tells how long u live! the round, circle ones live longer (huh? isn't most ppl's belly buttons are round?!)
Ppl that retire earlier might live shorter
Ppl which has stable relationship lives longer
When come to veggies, the more colour the healthier!
For packaged low-fat food, beware of the high sugar!
Optimist have a significantly lower risk of premature death! so, be more optimistic!!
Taurus might live longer (that's the average result from the studio audience)

haha...that's the end of the show. thanks for joining us tonight...

hey, u can actually do the test from their website! http://livinglonger.seven.com.au/
From the test, I knew that my main problem is lack of physical exercise!! really bad... So, in order to live healthier and longer than 85, I'll do more exercise (hopefully)!! Hmm...should go to the gym downstairs more often, or play tennis! Ya...think that i should go get a few tennis balls. :)

New look!

new look?!? not my new look.... it's my blog's new look..hehe
Changed only a little bit here and there... especially the cursor... the clock thingy.. i really like it!! hope you all like it too! :)

Hmm...went for dinner with a group of ppl who i don't know...err...they're my fren's frens..haha... but err...still, don't really know them after the dinner... Anyway, not a bad experience though. :)

Aih...don't think I'll sleep early tonight, coz will be chatting to frens in KL... some of them are leaving to S'pore coz uni starts soon... aih...miss them though, although it doesn't make big difference for me since i'm already far from them, in Melb now. Aih... too bad I din go back for this holiday lah.. :( Missed their farewell party/gatherings... Coz more frens will go to UK, one goin to Russia in Sep, I'll be seeing them propably after few years, since the holiday there and Aus are diffent.. aih... Good bye frens!! Take care!

Sleepy head!!

Good morning! err...good afternoon!! haha... just woke up half an hour ago... nice to sleep, lazy to crawl out of by nice warm bed. And also, because of my sore muscles all over my legs and arms. Aih...that's the cause of fatty acid I accumulated after the tennis yesterday... *sigh*

Friday, July 09, 2004

Phew...

Just came back from playing tennis..haha! err...wasn't too bad though, but still, don't know how to play! Can't play properly... aih... pity Shelvin who played with me.

Wow...had a great dinner and 'supper'!! Went for dinner in a Japanese restaurant at Bourke St just now with a bunch of friends, all 9 of us. And of course, the waiters and watresses stared at us and shooed us out with their 'eye's while we were chatting there after we finished our meal. Aih... that usually happens when a big bunch of us go for dinner or what in restaurants. haha too bad...
then went to friends' place for awhile, watched some tv show...and some of us was thinking... 'Hmm...wonder what 9 young ppl do in Friday night?! watching tv show?!' So we decided to go for a drink in LinControl (err, not so sure abt the spellin). We were sitting in outdoor, so it's kind of cold, or mayb I should say it's very cold. And plus, most of us were drinking iced chocolate and iced coffee! haha!
The next thing we do is... go to QV coz it's warmer there! and we went into Safeway, and bought DURIAN!! what a 'supper'! This is the first time I eat real durian in Melbourne! Before that, we only ate durian kuih, which my mum made and brought over. Well, the durian we bought was actually frozen before that, so it's quite soft on the outside and the actually 'fruit itself' too. But it was nice! err...of course, not as good as the authentic m'sian durian..haha... Anyway, it's still not too bad! :)
We had our durian in the food court in QV! ppl who walked pass looked at us, mayb in their mind: What's this bunch of young kids doin here? eating... what's that?!
And the security guard actually walked pass us twice! haha
But anyway, it was fun! we even took pictures there.haha....Will post the pictures here later...someday..haha

Celebrate!!

Woa...got my results yesterday evening...haha... yup..happy with it..
My fren, Shelvin and her bro came over for dinner and movie. and we called a fren and bluff her abt our 'bad' results... which isn't a good thing to do afterall... haha...hope she's not pissed off! Sorry!!
Yay! We are goin out for dinner to celebrate today!! No matter good results or bad results, as long as we passed, we 'survived first sem', it's worth to celebrate! haha! Am I right?!
Before the 'feast', me and Shelvin are planning to go play tennis, to burn off the fats before 'building up new ones' haha! Well, I don't know how to play tennis though. Just bought a racquet that day, so it'll be an 'opening ceremony' for the new racquet! :)

Relax

Hmm... never knew that staying at home, doin nothing but reading story book, online, listening to my favourite songs can be so relaxing! Like the way it is now... so nice and relaxing! Just dunno any other words to describe this feeling! haha..
Phew...this is what a holiday is! ;)
Oh No!!! just found out that I actually scartched a new plastic orange bowl that i just bought that day. Aih... this is my first use leh... sad... I was making some pancakes for my dinner, and scratched the bowl with the electric mixer. :(

Red bean soup

hmm...no plans for today, may go to a fren's place to pick up some stuff.
Cooked red bean soup for myself today..haha... suddenly feel like drinking it last night, so started boiling with slow cooker since late night. It was yummy! haha...

Tried not to online for a few days..since i online everyday at my own place. It wasn't that bad actually, if there're other ppl around you, having some other stuff to do.
Oh ya, the dryer was ok liao. after a few finger touch on it from my uncle that day. Relief...
Hmm...just tried to cook carbonara (err...right spelling?) for lunch and dinner just now. Eating it now, haha... Hmm..quite happy with it. Thanks to my friend who told me how to cook it.
