Even though i've never had a baby, but i recon,
Having a baby is probably easier than giving birth to a phd thesis (well, my phd thesis at least),
both takes months to 'prepare'. Yes some ppl take 10 months over even more to write a phd thesis.
changes in hormone levels are experienced in both.
pregnant mums gain weight, I went the other way while writing.
pregnant mums might prefer staying at home because it's tiring to carry your belly around, I prefer not to go out but stay at home to write
pregnant mums had to get a new wardrobe of clothes, i wear pyjamas most of the time in those months
pregnant mums usually have a different set of taste buds, i don't feel like eating at all.
for pregnancies, there's an expected due date, even if the baby doesn't
come on that actual date, it won't be a one month delay. for thesis, the
'expected submission date' is always changing, mine has gone from end
of march, to mid april, to early may!
During pregnancy, u get lots of moral and 'technical'(eg medical) support u need so u dont feel like u r going through all that by urself
Writing a thesis on the other hand, well at least from my experience, is a cold and lonely path :(
